What Teeth Whitening Services Do We Offer?

At Fundamental Dental we offer the Zoom teeth whitening system. Zoom is a completely safe and very effective way to whiten your teeth in our office. The process is quick, and many patients see results right after their first treatment. The Zoom system is easy and comfortable for patients, and the treatment is done in less than an hour.

Who Would Be a Good Candidate for Zoom?

Patients that have discolored teeth or stained teeth are great candidates for the Zoom teeth whitening system. Stains can be caused by dark colored foods or liquids, such as coffee or red wine. The Zoom system is perfect before weddings or events, to restore your confidence, and remove stains on your teeth. Zoom creates beautiful results that last, and leave you with a bright white smile.

During our consultation process we will evaluate the health of your teeth and mouth, and determine if Zoom is right for you. Patients should have healthy teeth that are free of decay before starting the Zoom system. If patients need other treatments prior to starting the Zoom system, our team will discuss what is needed and create a customized treatment plan that works for you. We love creating beautiful smiles, and always ensure our patients have a pleasant experience.

What Can I Expect During the Zoom Process?

When we begin the Zoom whitening treatment, we use special tools to move your lips slightly away from your teeth. Our team will apply a highly concentrated gel to your teeth. Next, a bright light is used on the gel to begin the whitening process. After about 30 minutes, we reapply the gel and apply the light for a second time. The treatment takes about an hour, and once complete patients can see results immediately. Our team will discuss tips and tricks on how to keep your teeth looking bright white at home.

Will I Have Sensitivity From Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening is a safe way to whiten teeth that are damaged from stains or discoloration. Our enamel is the outer layer of the tooth, and the layer underneath our enamel is what absorbs the stain. This layer is called dentin, and is the layer that teeth whitening systems must reach in order to achieve results. The Zoom product safely flows through the enamel tubules, and reaches the dentin underneath, to gently and easily whiten your teeth without damaging your enamel.

Any whitening treatment may cause some sensitivity afterwards, and some patients are more sensitive than others. We recommend patients avoid extremely hot or cold foods or drinks right after their treatment. The sensitivity should subside after a few days.
