Lumineers

Dentist Woman Teeth Whitening Dental Clinic

What are Lumineers?

Lumineers are a type of veneer that can be placed over flawed front teeth. Unlike traditional porcelain veneers, Lumineers are thinner and require little to no drilling to place. This prevents the front teeth from being compromised so that you can remove the Lumineers and still have your natural smile. You can utilize Lumineers to cover flaws like stains, deep discoloration, gaps, spaces, chips and breaks.

Why would you need Lumineers?

Lumineers are often used to improve the overall appearance of a patient’s smile. They are typically only placed over the anterior (front) teeth. You might want to consider Lumineers before a big event, like your own wedding. These thin veneers can be used to cover many different things that you don’t like about your smile. After the procedure is done, you’ll reveal a healthier, brighter and whiter smile.

Who is a good candidate for Lumineers?

Lumineers are best for patients who have healthy teeth. Despite your front teeth having minor flaws, they should be healthy and solid enough to hold onto the Lumineers for years to come. We will examine your teeth to decipher if Lumineers are right for you. Most of our patients who are interested in Lumineers can come in and begin the process of having them placed.

What can be expected during the procedure for Lumineer?

The Lumineers process is done in just two short visits. There is no drilling or reshaping necessary. This means that the first appointment only involves taking impressions and molds of your front teeth. We will use these molds to make new Lumineers just for you. Once they have been made, you will come back into our office to have them placed. Each Lumineer is placed one-by-one to ensure they look and feel as natural as possible. You can expect most Lumineers to last for many years before they may need to be replaced completely.
